Are your courses workplace certified?
Yes! Chinook Safety Group is fully OHS-approved, and all of our certification courses meet Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) standards. That means your training is compliant and recognized for workplace requirements across Alberta.

How long are your courses?
Course length varies depending on the type, but they range anywhere from 5 hours to 16 hours, depending on the course. For more specific times, please refer to the course descriptions.

I can’t find a time that works for me—can you accommodate custom scheduling?
Absolutely! Contact us directly through our private booking form, and we’ll do our best to find a time that fits your schedule.

What should I bring to a class?
For most of our courses, all we need you to bring is yourself! We provide all course materials, including training equipment. Wear comfortable clothing as courses involve hands-on practice. The only thing that is needed for recertification courses is a copy/picture of your previous certification
If you require us to fill out paperwork for your employer, please bring a printed copy

How soon do I get my certification?
You will receive a temporary intirm card at the end of the course that is valid for 60 days. Within a couple weeks you will be able to find your official certification on the lifesaving society Website. If there are any issues, please contact us and we will ensure the official certification is issued or have your employer contact us.

What is the difference between Basic First Aid and Intermediate First Aid?
Basic First Aid is a 1-day course covering life-threatening emergencies. Intermediate First Aid is a more comprehensive 2-day course that includes secondary injuries and environmental emergencies.

How long is my certification valid?
Your certification currancy changes based on the course that you take:
- CPR A & C/Basic Life Support/Oxygen Administration: 2 years from the date of certification
- Basic First Aid/Intermediate First Aid: 3 years from the date of certification

What is your cancellation or rescheduling policy?
We understand that plans change. We kindly ask for at least 48 hours’ notice to reschedule or cancel your booking. Short-notice cancellations may be subject to a fee.

What happens if I fail the course?
We offer remediation options. Our goal is to support you in succeeding and feeling confident in your first aid skills.
