Respiratory Mask Fit Testing

At Chinook Safety Group, we provide expert qualitative respirator mask fit testing to ensure your mask creates a secure and effective seal. This not only maximizes your protection but also helps you stay compliant with health and safety regulations.

Our testing is designed to meet the needs of both students and working professionals, aligning with workplace standards and academic program requirements. A properly fitted mask protects against airborne contaminants, ensures a comfortable and reliable seal, and supports compliance with Alberta OH&S and institutional policies.

    1. Mask Selection
      We test N95, half-face, and full-face respirators.

    2. Donning & Adjustment
      Learn how to properly wear and adjust your mask.

    3. Seal & Comfort Check
      You'll wear the mask for at least 5 minutes to evaluate its comfort and fit.

    4. Pressure Seal Testing
      We use industry-standard testing to assess seal integrity.

  • Alberta OH&S Fit Testing Guidelines state that fit testing must be completed:

    • When the respirator is first issued

    • Every two years

    • If the type of respirator changes

    • If workplace or facial changes occur (e.g., weight loss, injury)

  • Your certification is valid for 2 years under CSA guidelines. Some schools or employers may require annual testing—check with them to confirm.

  • The test takes approximately 20–30 minutes

    Cost:

    • $45.00 per fit test

    • $35.00 if you bring your own mask
